What is a Wildcard SSL?
Unlike a standard SSL certificate, a wildcard SSL covers unlimited subdomains, for example blog.yourdomain.co.uk and admin.yourdomain.co.uk
What is encryption and are there different levels?
Encryption protects your data from being accessed by the wrong people. The encryption strength is measured by a number of bits in the encryption key. The higher the number, the longer it takes to decrypt the data.
All our SSL certificates are encrypted with 256 bit encryption which is the recommended level, but there are other levels available elsewhere.
How does SSL make my website more trustworthy?
On an SSL certified website your visitors will see a padlock in the web browser address bar. Without an SSL certificate, they would see a “Not secure” warning instead.
Acklo also provide you with a static site seal which is also displayed to reassure visitors that they are viewing a secure site. You can’t buy trust, but you can buy an SSL certificate which goes a long way!
How is an SSL installed?
SSL certificates are normally installed by your web domain hosting company or web developer. You can choose to install them yourself, but you’ll probably need a techie to do this correctly.
With Acklo you don’t need to worry about this - we ensure the encryption keys are generated and put onto your server with no hassle involved.
